About “Iqro”

Iqro is a textbook used in Indonesia and Malaysia to teach Arabic letters and pronunciation. It was first published in the 1990s and was created by As'ad Humam and a group called "Team Tadarus AMM" based in Yogyakarta. The book is designed to help students read the Quran in Arabic, as Arabic is not commonly used outside of religious settings in these countries. Iqro serves as an introduction to Arabic script and is an important tool for those learning to read the Quran. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
