About “Jingxingji”
The Jingxingji was a journey book written by Du Huan after he returned to China in 762 from the Abbasid Caliphate. Most of the text is lost, but about 1,511 words survive in the Tongdian. The book described thirteen main countries and was later partially reconstructed by Wang Guowei, who published a separate work titled Guxingji Jiaolu based on it. Additional references to the Jingxingji appear in other historical texts, such as the Imperial Readings of the Taiping Era, Taiping Huanyuji, Tongzhi, and Tongkao.
