Karen Whitlaw receives a notebook from her father, whom she has not seen since his return from the Vietnam War, shortly after her mother's death. When her father is murdered in New Orleans, Karen becomes the target of a killer after discovering that the notebook contains detailed accounts of her father's actions as a sniper in Vietnam.
