About “Killers of the Flower Moon”
In the 1920s, the Osage Nation in Oklahoma became the richest people per capita after oil was discovered on their land. They lived extravagantly, driving cars and sending their children to study in Europe. However, many Osage people began to die under mysterious circumstances. Mollie Burkhart's family was particularly affected, with relatives being shot or poisoned. As more Osage died and investigators were also killed, the FBI became involved. J. Edgar Hoover assigned Tom White, a former Texas Ranger, to solve the case. White formed an undercover team, including a Native American agent, and worked with the Osage to uncover a disturbing conspiracy. This true story is told in a 2017 non-fiction book by David Grann.
