Kim is a picaresque novel by Rudyard Kipling. It follows the story of an orphan born in colonial India who grows up caught between his deep affection for India and his duty to the British Empire. The novel explores his complex relationship with his Irish-English heritage and his involvement with the British Secret Service. Recognized as Kipling's finest work, Kim contributed significantly to his receipt of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1907.
