About “Kitáb-i-Íqán”

The Kitáb-i-Íqán is a book written by Bahá'u'lláh, the founder of the Bahá'í Faith, and is considered the primary doctrinal work of the religion. It was composed in Baghdad over two days and nights in January 1861, with parts written in Persian and parts in Arabic. The work was written in response to questions from Ḥájí Mírzá Siyyid Muḥammad, a maternal uncle of the Báb. Scholars have recognized it as a significant piece of Quranic exegesis. It has been praised by several scholars, including Todd Lawson, who called it a major work of exegesis, and Edward Granville Browne, who described it as a work of high merit. Christopher Buck noted its influence as a Quran commentary in Persian outside the Muslim world. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
