About “Kyūyō”

The Kyūyō-kiji, often shortened to Kyūyō, is an official history of the Ryūkyū Kingdom. It was compiled by a group of historians led by Tei Heitetsu, Kohagura, Uēkata Yūjitsu, between 1743 and 1745 during the Qianlong era. The work was commissioned by king Shō Kei. The history is divided into two parts: a "central" section and an "external" section. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
