About “La Boîte à merveilles”
La Boîte à merveilles is an autobiographical novel published in 1954 by Moroccan writer Ahmed Sefrioui. It was long regarded as the first Moroccan novel written in French during the French Protectorate. However, later recognition was given to Abdelkader Chatt’s Mosaïques ternies, published in 1932, which was rediscovered and acknowledged as an earlier example of Moroccan literature in French.
