About “Le Diable au corps”

Le Diable au corps is a 1923 novel by Raymond Radiguet, a young literary talent from Paris. The story follows a married woman who begins an affair with a sixteen-year-old boy while her husband is away at the front during World War I. The novel caused controversy when it was published. Although Radiguet denied it, later evidence showed the story was largely based on his own experiences. Initially criticized for the publicity surrounding its release, Radiguet won over critics with his skilled writing and calm, objective style. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
