About “Lenore”

Lenore, also known as Leonora, Leonore, or Ellenore, is a poem written by German author Gottfried August Bürger in 1773. It was published in 1774 in the Göttinger Musenalmanach. The poem is considered part of the 18th-century Gothic ballads. Although the character who returns from the grave is not a vampire, the poem influenced vampire literature.
