About “Letters of a Javanese Princess”
Letters of a Javanese Princess is a posthumous collection of letters written by Kartini, a women's rights activist and intellectual from the Dutch East Indies. The letters, originally written in Dutch, were gathered and published in 1911 by Jacques Henrij Abendanon, one of Kartini's correspondents. The book was later translated into multiple languages, including English in 1920 and Malay in 1922 by Balai Pustaka.
