About “Liber feudorum maior”
The Liber feudorum maior, also known as the Liber domini regis, is a late twelfth-century illuminated cartulary from the Crown of Aragon. Compiled by royal archivist Ramon de Caldes with assistance from Guillem de Bassa for Alfonso II, it began in 1192. The document contains 902 records, some dating back to the tenth century. It is notably illustrated in a Romanesque style, which is uncommon for practical records. The Liber feudorum maior is a key resource for understanding the institutional development of the Principality of Catalonia.
