The Liezi is a Taoist text attributed to Lie Yukou, a philosopher from the 5th century BC during the Hundred Schools of Thought period. References to the Liezi appear from the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC, but many scholars, both Chinese and Western, believe the current version of the text was compiled around the 4th century CE by Zhang Zhan.
