About “Lilith”
Lilith, a 1895 novel by George MacDonald, is considered one of his darkest and most profound works. It explores themes of life, death, and salvation. Some readers believe it presents the idea of Christian universalism, the belief that all people will eventually be saved. The book was later revived in 1969 when it was published as the fifth volume in the Ballantine Adult Fantasy series by Ballantine Books. This reissue helped bring greater attention to the novel.
