About “Llibre del Coch”

The Libre del Coch is a Catalan recipe book written around 1490 by Master Robert de Nola. It was first printed in 1520 in Barcelona and contains recipes from Catalan cuisine, some derived from the Libre de Sent Soví, as well as influences from Occitan and Italian cuisines. The book reflects the culinary traditions of regions under the Crown of Aragon, including the northeastern Mediterranean, Southern Italy, Corsica, and Sicily. Although it does not include Castilian recipes, it became popular in Castile and was translated into Spanish in 1525, with multiple reprints. It is regarded as an important source for understanding Renaissance gastronomy. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
