Macbeth is a 2018 novel by Norwegian writer Jo Nesbø, part of the Hogarth Shakespeare project. It re-tells the story of Shakespeare's Macbeth for a modern audience. Set in a dystopian, imaginary Fife during the 1970s, the book adapts the classic tale into a thriller. The novel was released in April 2018.
