About “Mandy”

Mandy is a ten-year-old girl who lives in an old stone orphanage and feels a sense of longing despite the kindness of Matron Bridie. She discovers a small, abandoned cottage in the woods, where she spends the spring, summer, and fall making it her own, sometimes taking items from the orphanage and lying to protect her secret, until she falls ill during a storm and is found by an unexpected friend.
