About “Marxism and the National Question”
Marxism and the National Question is a short Marxist theoretical work written by Joseph Stalin in January 1913 while he was living in Vienna. It was first published as a pamphlet and later reprinted multiple times. The essay, written by the ethnic Georgian Stalin, was seen as an important contribution to Marxist thought on nationality. It helped establish Stalin's reputation as an expert on national issues. He later became the first People's Commissar of Nationalities after the Bolshevik victory in the October Revolution of 1917.
