About “Matryoshka”
Matryoshka is a Persian-language satire adapted from selected short stories of Anton Chekhov. The play was written and directed by Parsa Pirouzfar, who also performs all over 30 characters in the production. It combines elements of Chekhov’s stories with a satirical perspective, presented through the single performer's portrayal of multiple roles. The work is a theatrical adaptation that reinterprets Chekhov’s themes within a Persian linguistic and cultural context. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
