Maybe the Moon follows Cadence Roth, a 31-inch-tall former Hollywood actress and singer, who lives in Los Angeles and performs at children's events after her early role as an elf in a popular film left her faceless beneath a rubber suit. Through a series of journal entries, the novel traces her encounters with agents, studio moguls, and everyday challenges, as well as her growing relationship with a lanky piano player and her best friend Jeff, a gay waiter, in a scheme that could finally bring her recognition.
