Megatokyo is an English-language webcomic created by Fred Gallagher and Rodney Caston. It debuted on August 14, 2000, and Gallagher took full control of writing and illustration starting June 17, 2002. His style is influenced by Japanese manga. The comic is available for free on its official website. Originally planned to update twice a week, it was posted less frequently, often once or twice a quarter. In 2011, updates were delayed due to the health issues of Sarah Gallagher, Gallagher's wife. The comic was published in book format by CMX, with the first three volumes published by Dark Horse. In February 2005, the third printed volume ranked third on BookScan's list of graphic novels sold in bookstores, marking the best performance for an original English-language manga.
