About “Minor Detail”

Minor Detail, a 2017 novel by Palestinian author Adania Shibli, begins in the summer of 1949, when Israeli soldiers capture, rape, and kill a young Palestinian woman, burying her in the sand. Years later, a woman in Ramallah becomes obsessed with this 'minor detail' of history, in a meditation on war, violence, memory, and the Palestinian experience of dispossession and occupation.
