About “Minyas”
The Minyas or Minyad was an early Greek epic poem from the 6th century BC. It survives only in fragments. The poem may have dealt with myths about Orchomenus, a region ruled by a legendary figure named Minyas. However, the surviving parts describe the journey of Theseus and Pirithous into the underworld. The link between this story and the title Minyas remains unclear. Some scholars suggest the poem could be the same one mentioned by Pausanias, which was attributed to Hesiod.
