About “Misquoting Jesus”
For almost 1,500 years, New Testament manuscripts were copied by hand, leading to numerous mistakes and intentional changes. Religious scholar Bart Ehrman argues that many traditional beliefs about the Bible, such as the divinity of Jesus and the Trinity, may stem from alterations made by scribes. In his book, Ehrman explains where and why these changes occurred, detailing how different versions of biblical stories developed. He also discusses why only certain versions were included in modern Bibles. Ehrman shares how his study of ancient Greek manuscripts led him to abandon his earlier conservative views on the Bible.
