About “Mr Norris Changes Trains”

On a train to Berlin in late 1930, William Bradshaw meets Arthur Norris, an Englishman wearing a noticeable wig and anxious about his passport, beginning a friendship set in the less reputable parts of the city. Norris, involved in a questionable import-export business, lives in dread of his secretary, creditors, and his girlfriend Anni, while simultaneously presenting himself as a political orator, spy, and double agent, and ultimately selling his friends.
