About “Ode to a nightingale”

"Ode to a Nightingale" is a poem by John Keats, written in 1819. It was composed either in the garden of the Spaniards Inn in Hampstead, London, or under a plum tree in the garden of Keats' home at Wentworth Place, also in Hampstead. A nightingale had built a nest near the house that Keats shared with his friend Charles Armitage Brown in the spring of 1819. The bird's song inspired Keats to write the poem in a single day. The poem was first published in Annals of the Fine Arts in July 1819. It is one of the most commonly anthologized poems in the English language. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
