About “Oishinbo”
Oishinbo is a long-running Japanese cooking manga series written by Tetsu Kariya and drawn by Akira Hanasaki. The title combines the Japanese word for "delicious," oishii, and kuishinbō, meaning someone who loves to eat. The story follows culinary journalist Shirō Yamaoka and his partner, Yūko Kurita, as they explore the world of food. Published by Shogakukan from 1983 to 2008 in Big Comic Spirits, the series returned on February 23, 2009, but was placed on an indefinite hiatus after the May 12, 2014, edition.
