About “Omon Ra”
A 1992 novel by Viktor Pelevin that satirizes the Soviet space program. Omon has dreamed of space flight his entire life and is enrolled as a cosmonaut, only to learn that his actual task is piloting a supposedly unmanned lunar vehicle to the Moon and remaining there to die.
