New Sonora colonist Oliver Lewis wants nothing more than to run his family's ranch and keep its aging fleet of intelligent agriculture bots running. That changes when the vast Apex Corporation is hired to carry out an "eviction action" - exterminating all life on New Sonora to prepare it for a reboot - while charging bored Earthers for the chance to design their own war machines, pilot them remotely, and treat the operation as a game called Operation Bounce House. Determined to defend the only home he has ever known, Oliver and his friends find themselves fighting for their lives against these machines. What is a game to Earth is war to Oliver.
