About “Original Stories from Real Life”
Original Stories from Real Life is a children's book written by Mary Wollstonecraft, an 18th-century English feminist. It is her only complete work of children's literature. The book starts with a frame story about the education of two girls by their teacher, Mrs. Mason, and includes a series of moral tales. It was first published in 1788 by Joseph Johnson. A second edition, featuring engravings by William Blake, was published in 1791 and remained available for about 25 years.
