Patrick is a historical novel that follows the life of Succat Morgannwg, a young man from a noble Welsh family who is captured by Irish raiders at sixteen and sold into slavery. He endures hardship under a brutal wilderness king, is rescued by druids, learns healing and mystical arts, and eventually seeks freedom and return to his homeland, journeying through war, loss, and transformation across Wales, Gaul, and Rome before embracing a divine calling that leads him to adopt the name Patricius.
