About “Persica”
Persica is a lost Ancient Greek text composed by Ctesias of Cnidus, a physician who served at the court of the Persian king Artaxerxes II. The work is divided into 23 books and covers the history of Assyria, Media, and Persia. It has been a topic of debate among modern scholars due to its style and reliability as a source for Achaemenid history.
