About “Pod svobodnim soncem”
Pod svobodnim soncem: povest davnih dedov is a historical novel by Slovene writer Fran Saleški Finžgar. It was first published as a serial story in the newspaper Dom in svet in 1906 and 1907, and later released as a book in 1912. The novel is an extensive narrative with nationally motivated themes. It reflects historical events and emphasizes national identity, as was common in literature of that period. The work is considered an important contribution to Slovenian literature.
