About “Rahat al-sudur”
The Rahat al-sudur is a historical account of the Great Seljuq Empire, its fragmentation into smaller principalities, and the later Khwarazmian conquest. Written by the Persian historian Muhammad bin Ali Rawandi around 1204 or 1205, the work was supported by Shihab al-Din al-Kashani. Originally composed in Persian and dedicated to Toghrul III of the Seljuqs, it was later rededicated to Kaykhusraw I, the Sultan of Rum.
