Growing up in the ghettos of Washington, D.C., Rain Arnold studies hard, gets good grades, and helps her mother, avoiding the dangers of the streets unlike her defiant younger sister. One fateful night she overhears a long-buried secret from the past that sends her to live with the wealthy Hudson family, where she finds an escape in theater at an exclusive private school.
