About “Rawzat as-safa”
Rawdatu 's-safa is a Persian-language historical work written by Mirkhvand. It covers the origins of Islam, early Islamic civilization, and Persian history. The text was originally published in seven volumes in 1497, with an eighth volume serving as a geographical index. Mirkhvand drew from nineteen major Arabic historical sources and twenty-two major Persian ones, occasionally quoting others. His work influenced later historians, including Hajji Khalifa.
