About “Ring of Fire”
While many comic books based on Buffy the Vampire Slayer were published during the show's run, not all are considered canonical. Some include characters not seen in the television series, such as in the Tales of the Slayers and Tales of the Vampires miniseries. The first comics were published by Dark Horse Comics between 1998 and 2004, initially as comics and later as trade paperbacks. Some titles, like Giles, Jonathan, and Reunion, were never collected. After the show ended, Dark Horse released new books titled Season Eight, Season Nine, and Season Ten, which were recognized as canon. In 2005, Dark Horse let the Angel comic license expire, and IDW Publishing briefly took over, producing the canonical Angel: After the Fall. Dark Horse regained the rights in 2010 and released Angel & Faith and Angel. In 2018, the license for Buffy and related material transferred to Boom!
