About “Rocks of ages”
Stephen Jay Gould addresses the long-standing conflict between science and religion in his book. He proposes a solution that allows both to coexist without conflict. Gould introduces the concept of NOMA, or nonoverlapping magisteria, which separates the domains of science and religion. Science deals with the natural world, while religion focuses on moral and spiritual matters. This approach respects the distinct roles of each, allowing them to operate without interference. Gould's argument is based on the idea that science and religion can both have value and dignity within their own spheres. His work offers a peaceful resolution to a dilemma that has existed since the Renaissance.
