About “Roderick Hudson”
Wealthy Rowland Mallet sees a sculpture by Roderick Hudson and pronounces it a work of genius, drawn also to the sculptor's beauty and charisma. He takes the impoverished Roderick from America to Rome to develop his talent, where Roderick becomes the talk of the city, but soon loses his inspiration while Rowland loses control of him, and both fall in love with women they cannot have.
