About “Sackett's Land”
Barnabas Sackett discovers six gold Roman coins buried in the mud of the Devil's Dyke and uses the money to purchase goods for trade in America. He is attacked by order of Rupert Genester, who seeks to eliminate him due to a promise made to Sackett's father that threatens Genester's inheritance, and is thrown into the hold of a pirate ship, from which he escapes before making his way to the Carolina coast.
