About “Sally the Witch”
Sally the Witch, originally titled Sunny the Witch, is a Japanese manga series created and drawn by Mitsuteru Yokoyama. It was first published in Shueisha's monthly Ribon magazine from July 1966 to October 1967. The series was adapted into an anime in 1966, making it one of the most popular magical girl series of its time. It is often considered one of the earliest examples of shōjo anime, as it predates other notable works in the genre. While earlier manga like Himitsu no Akko-chan existed, the 1966 anime version of Sally the Witch came before the 1969 anime adaptation of Himitsu no Akko-chan.
