About “Sekirei”
Sekirei is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Sakurako Gokurakuin. It was serialized in Young Gangan, a seinen manga magazine published by Square Enix, from December 2004 to August 2015. A special epilogue volume was later published in the same magazine from May 2017 to March 2018. The series was adapted into an anime by Seven Arcs, directed by Keizō Kusakawa, which aired in Japan from July to September 2008. A second season aired from July to September 2010. The anime was licensed in North America by Funimation, but the license expired in 2017. The story follows Minato Sahashi, a ronin who has failed his college entrance exams twice. His life changes when he meets women with special powers known as "Sekirei" and becomes involved in a battle that could determine the fate of the world.
