About “Shiroi Kyotō”
Shiroi Kyotō is a 1965 novel by Toyoko Yamasaki. It was adapted into a film in 1966, which was entered into the 5th Moscow International Film Festival and won a Silver Prize. The story was later adapted into five television series, released in 1967, 1978, 1990, 2003, and 2019. The novel and its adaptations are part of a recurring cultural presence in Japanese media.
