About “Shizen nōhō wara ippon no kakumei”
Masanobu Fukuoka, a scientist who studied plant enzymes and worked with poisonous chemicals during World War II, returned to his family's farm in postwar Japan. There, he developed a farming method that followed natural principles, avoiding chemicals and tilling. His approach produced high rice yields without fertilizers. In the 1970s, his book The One Straw Revolution gained attention, presenting his ideas on organic farming and natural food. Fukuoka believed that chemicals caused the problems they aimed to fix and that food grown naturally should be the most affordable and healthy. His work remains influential, offering a vision of farming and eating that aligns with nature. His message continues to be relevant as global food issues grow.
