About “Sole, Luna e Talia”

"Sun, Moon, and Talia" is an Italian fairy tale written by Giambattista Basile and included in his 1636 work, the Pentamerone. It was later retold by Charles Perrault in 1697 as "Sleeping Beauty" and by the Brothers Grimm in 1812 as "Little Briar Rose." The original version is known for its dark themes, including rape and attempted cannibalism. Basile's tale is considered a significant early example of the fairy tale genre.
