About “Speculum Virginum”
The Speculum Virginum is a 12th-century didactic treatise focused on female monastic life. It was originally written in the mid-12th century, though the author's identity remains uncertain. Some scholars suggest it was written by Conrad of Hirsau, a Benedictine monk.
