About “Tabula Rogeriana”
The Nuzhat al-mushtāq fī ikhtirāq al-āfāq, known in the West as the Tabula Rogeriana, is an atlas created in 1154 by the Arab geographer Muhammad al-Idrisi. It was commissioned by the Norman King Roger II in 1138. The work includes 70 maps that represent the known world at the time, along with detailed descriptions and commentary on each location.
