This 2020 novel by Yang Shuang-zi, disguised as a translation of a rediscovered text by a Japanese writer, is set in May 1938 as novelist Aoyama Chizuko arrives in Taiwan and falls for her interpreter, Chizuru, amid scenic travels and cuisine. It won Taiwan's highest literary honor, the Golden Tripod Award, after its 2020 publication in Mandarin Chinese.
