About “Tam o' Shanter”
"Tam o' Shanter" is a narrative poem written by the Scottish poet Robert Burns in 1790 while he was living in Dumfries. It was first published in 1791 in the second volume of Francis Grose's Antiquities of Scotland. The poem is 228 lines long and combines elements of the Scots language with English.
