Tantrasamgraha is an astronomical treatise written by Nilakantha Somayaji, a scholar from the Kerala school of astronomy and mathematics. Completed in 1501 CE, it contains 432 Sanskrit verses organized into eight chapters. The work inspired commentaries, including the anonymous Tantrasamgraha-vyakhya and Yuktibhāṣā, written by Jyeshtadeva around 1550 CE. Together, Tantrasamgraha and its commentaries highlight the mathematical achievements of the Kerala school, especially those of Sangamagrama Madhava. In his text, Nilakantha revised Aryabhata’s model for the planets Mercury and Venus.
